When our energy is flowing freely throughout the body,
our body knows how to handle stress, tension and illness.
Unfortunately, in our Western culture, we tend to live “above the neck” in our minds, and we have a very reactive model of “dis-ease” care, often treating only the symptoms.
Even with Western massage practice, which is wonderful and important to receive, we often wait and seek it out only after we are already in pain or injured.
Ancient Eastern healing practices follow a more proactive approach, with an understanding that if we keep the “chi”, or energy, freed up and flowing, the body can and will heal itself.
Thai massage works by compressing and gently stretching these energy pathways to open them up. The session usually lasts anywhere from 2.5 - 3.5 hours, and is a beautifully nurturing journey through the physical and energy bodies.
